First of all...I want to publicly congratulate our amazing friends, Evan and Lisa on the birth of their daughter, Campbell Raegan on July 13th!! She is such a doll baby...and looks a lot like her Aunt Laurie...if I do say so myself!! :)
We spent a Saturday in July at my Uncle Tom and Aunt Julie's lake cottage and had a blast with them and Kara!! Here are a few pics of our tubing excitement!!
Our sweet friends, Brock and Angie came up to spend the weekend with their adorable little ones, Mia and Drake. They arrived on a Friday evening, and we were going to enjoy a picnic at the park and the zoo on Saturday. We had the kiddos all tucked in, and Glenn, Brock, Angie, and I were enjoying some "adult" time...when all of the sudden we heard a loud "THUD". Mr. Drake Man hadn't been real thrilled about going to bed...in a strange place...and in his pack in play...so we knew that the "THUD" was Drake escaping from that dreadful pack in play!! :) Brock went up and tucked him back in...to what everybody thought would be a very smooth night! Not really...Poor Ang was up with him every 15 minutes, and Drake kept complaining of pain. Since he is only 1, he is unable to really communicate what exactly hurt, but Ang knew something was definitely wrong. The next morning when it was finally light out, Ang came down to the kitchen and told me she thought maybe he broke his arm! They took him to the ER...and sure enough...it was broke! :( They gave him a sling to put it in, until they could get into the Orthopedic doctor on Monday. Unfortunately he had to end up having surgery on it as well...poor little man!! He was such a little trooper...we still braved the zoo...in amazingly hot temperatures...and had a great time! I know it was totally out of my control...but it makes you feel bad just the same since it happened at our house!!
Kearstin went to cheerleading camp the last week of July and had a fabulous time!! She was DEAD tired by the time she came home...but enjoyed every minute of it!! While she was at camp, Glenn, Hunter and I did an "Extreme Makeover" on her room. She had picked out the bedding and colors before she left...but had no idea that we were going to work on it while she was gone! :) We had SOOOO much fun surprising her...but were just as dead tired by the end of the week...just like she was!! LOL
Last weekend we took a long weekend trip to North Carolina for Kearstin to see her friends...and to spend time with our amazing friends as well! What an amazing weekend to "catch up" with everybody after two years!! We miss North Carolina so much...and are so grateful for the amazing people that God brought into our lives the short time we lived there!
Finally....we returned from North Carolina around 10:00 pm Monday evening, and Kearstin had to be at the Orthopedic Hospital at 7:30 am Tuesday morning for her surgery. She had a ganglion cyst removed from her left wrist. She has been dealing with it "coming and going" over the last three years, and finally cheerleading just ajated it to the point that they suggested removing it. The surgery went very well, only a 15 minute procedure! She was so strong, and did a great job...even when the atheistic messed with her tummy a little!!:( These pics were taken before surgery.
I think that about wraps things up!! School starts already on the 19th...thus my title post of...Where did the summer go?? Can you believe we will have a Sophomore and a 6th grader?? Forget where did the summer go...where did the years go?? :)
Love you all! :)
